Historical Background:

The parish of Sant Pere d'Auira, also known as Huire, was first mentioned in 1150 and belonged to the jurisdiction of the monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll. The current church was reconstructed in the early 13th century and consecrated on June 6, 1235, by the Bishop of Vic, Sant Bernat Calbó. Due to the small population, the parish was dissolved in 1415 and merged with Sant Quintí de Puig-rodon. The church’s history is closely linked to the House of Rotllan, which has been documented since 1180.
