The 40090 ROMANESQUE 13 model reproduces the Palace of St Mary of Naranco in 1:65 scale. This structure is located near the city of Oviedo, on ruins from the Roman era. It was originally constructed as a civil building during the reign of Ramiro, from 842 to 850. In the twelfth century it was converted into the Church of St Mary, although it had previously served as a church dedicated to St. Michael of Liño. From 1929 to 1934, an in-depth restoration was conducted, and several annexes were eliminated.
Technically it is an innovative building due to its barrel vault supported by ribbed arches, which replaced the wooden Visigothic roofs.
