In the 1920s, Milan had to cope with increasing urban traffic. The Ufficio Tramviario Municipale (UTM) decided to introduce high-capacity trams inspired by American models. This led to the creation of the "1500 Series," also known as the "Ventotto." Its distinctive design, upholstered seats, and adaptability to modern needs make it a unique witness to history. During World War II, many of these trams survived the bombings and returned to the streets as a symbol of resilience.
