Pasabahce is build with number 141 in the shipyards of Cantieri Navale di Taranto S.p.A. Docyard in Italy as passenger ship and having been launched in 1952. In the same year, she is officially operated by Turkish Maritime Affairs Co. and she commenced her ferry service from West side to the east side of the Bosphorus.

By means of her two 1600 horsepower Sulzer engines, the ship has gained a justified reputation as the fastest in the city´s ferries. Another feature of her magnificence is to has passenger capacity of 2000. One of the most memorable features of the ship is the relief of Goddess Artemis wich is at the wall of the staircase ascending to the upper deck.

The Pasabahce wich was carrying her passengers from the year of birth, 1952, to the year of retirement, 2010, has a special place in the people of Istanbul with her nickname Pasha
