It represents the smallest class of this vessel type, with lengths ranging from 10 to 18 meters and crews of two to six men.

The primary fishing methods used are longline fishing and trawling. Although originally designed for tuna fishing, these boats have adapted to various other fishing techniques over time.

A striking feature of these boats is their large bow, designed to withstand the strong waves of the Cantabrian Sea. Coastal fishing in the Cantabrian Sea has undergone steady development since the beginning of the century. The boat's design has been adapted to meet the demands of fishing activities and advancements in navigational safety.
